In conversation with a client yesterday, the topic of ‘social media policy’ or ‘blogging guidelines’ came up. In true consultative style, I said it was absolutely no problem at all and then pinged Dan (our digital lead) an email asking for help.
As always, Dan didn’t let me down and sent over this link which gives a nice ‘template’ to write a policy and this link which gives a whole bunch of real life corporate examples.
Harking back to Sun Microsystems, Dan suggested the best policy would just be four words long: “Don’t say anything stupid.”
Nice. I reckon that applies to a lot more than just blogging…
