We felt the cover pages of our cutting booklets looked a bit dated; two corporate logos and a date. So we asked ourselves what the cuttings booklet is actually about, and concluded that it’s a snapshot of how the media portrays the company over the timeframe of the booklet. With that in mind, it made sense that the cover page of a cuttings booklet reflects that.
So, after some digging around, we decided we’d create a word cloud of coverage over the given date of the booklet using wordle. It’s a really useful tool for giving a flavour of what topics a client’s coverage has been picking up on.
Pleasingly, so far at least, the word cloud has reflected the original campaign messaging on every occasion we have produced a cuttings booklet. That’s even more satisfying than the pretty cover page.
It even works on someone’s LinkedIn profile, if you’re self obsessed enough to wordle yourself…
