Jonathan Simnett, Strategic Development Director
Jonathan Simnett has 25 years' experience - winning in excess of three dozen awards - including leading Global Communications Department of the Year at the 2009 International Business Awards, New York - in helping private and public sector clients in fast-growth, business-to-business and consumer segments to achieve growth, build brands, enter new markets, and reposition through the delivery of more effective offline and online marketing communications strategies.
His experience includes being vice chairman in the UK of Brodeur Worldwide, a global public relations consultancy and being part of the team that founded and built a company of nearly 650 people and $95 million turnover worldwide, over a period of 15 years and which was one of the first companies in the UK to be awarded Investor in People accreditation and voted as the consultancy with the `Best Staff Development` three years in succession at the PR Week awards.
His responsibilities at The Reptile Group include: corporate strategy and group expansion; staff and client acquisition and development; international partnership growth; digital and social media capability; and management and team coach and client counsel.
He has delivered campaigns for financiers and advisory firms such as Ariadne Capital and Battery Ventures and their portfolios and for government and trade organisations such as: European Commission DGXIII; Locate in Scotland; Royal Norwegian Embassy; Innovation Norway; Salford Regeneration, Swedish Pulp and Paper Association and Thames Valley Enterprise. In addition, he's worked as a consultant with the management teams of numerous communications consultancies to help them effectively manage change and growth.
He began his career as a published academic in the Programme of Policy Research in Engineering, Science and Technology at The University of Manchester. There he secured funding from the public and private sector and conducted research into: deep ocean mining; remote sensing; technology transfer from academia to industry (including enabling the actual transfer of double skinned composite construction into the offshore oil and gas industry) and information technology (including producing UK Government policy briefing papers for the 1985 G7 Summit).
