Chameleon Wins PR Week Award

Chameleon PR landed the PR Week Award 2006 in the Technology category at a ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, October 2006. The campaign launched the world's first self destructing texts, StealthText, in a blaze of publicity last December. In his comments on Slf-dstrct msgs no lngr 'Mssn Impossble', host Jeremy Vine highlighted Chameleon's media relations skills and perseverance in attracting worldwide comment on the launch.

In winning the award, Chameleon beat off stiff competition from campaigns by runners up BT Retail, plus the other shortlisted entries Yahoo!, Xbox 360 and Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Speaking in PR Week judging panelist Stephen Docherty from Cohn & Wolfe said that the "quirky innovation cleverly piggybacked and brilliantly captured the media and public's imagination."

The StealthText campaign also went forward to the PR Week Campaign of the Year shortlist.

The Chameleon launch previously won an award at the Holmes Group pan-European SABRE Awards held in Berlin in the spring.
