Civica appoints Chameleon for Campaign expertise

Chameleon, the IT PR specialist, has been appointed the PR agency of record for CIvica, one of the UK's most experienced specialist providers of software and services to the public sector. Chameleon will focus on raising the profile of Civica (which is part of the Sanderson Group) through the national and business press as well as carrying out analyst relations and government relations activities for the company. Chameleon replaces incumbent Herald Communications.
Civica's appointment of Chameleon comes at a time when the way in which the public sector delivers its services has entered a period of significant change. . An increase in spending on public services, targets for e-government, acceptance of private sector partnerships and the recognition that IT is an important component in the achievement of productivity gains has led to growth opportunities for IT vendors operating in the sector.
Commenting on the appointment, Tim Magness, marketing director at Civica says:
"Formed in April 2002 from the Sanderson Group's principal public-sector business, Civica has a strong market position, supplying 40% of Local Authorities in the UK. However, with the young Civica brand, we want to raise our profile to a wider audience and increase understanding of our positioning and we need a specialist organisation to help us achieve this. Chameleon has demonstrated its expertise in developing successful and innovative PR campaigns and I am confident that this will help elevate Civica to a higher level of media awareness."
As well as raising Civica's profile at a corporate level, Chameleon will provide trade campaigns to support Civica's local government, healthcare and enforcement verticals and its broad software reseller and professional services businesses.
